The challenge of guiding those who will be the happy professionals of tomorrow.

In my humble opinion, education (formal and non-formal) should transmit, massively and effectively, a growing volume of evolutionary theoretical and technical knowledge, adapted to the competencies of the future: technological, technical, computer, artistic and communicative resources.

Likewise, to face the challenges of the XXI Century, education must be based on four pillars:

Learn to learn.

Learning to do.

Learn to be.

Learn to live together.

Learn to learn, to be autodidactid, please read this article if you want to know more.

This will allow: apply the knowledge learned usefully, work as a team, serve, work with others and for others, with social responsibility, developing the maximum capabilities that allow the individual to propose goals and achieve them, solve their own personal and professional problems, take decisions and be responsible for your own life. It is all about be and being free, using their potentialities to give direction to life, change the course if necessary and live completely.

Undoubtedly, the emerging forms of production and appropriation of knowledge derived from the demands of the knowledge society, forced institutions to advance transformation processes in order to fulfill their leading role in the global scenario. In this way, the competencies’ issue, where planning processes and being efficient were important; however, in today's education, it is even more important to be agile, collaborative, young people who give priority to collaboration, agility, with a sense of innovation and communication.

Current education should prepare young people for tomorrow’s challenges, where it’s vital to have a critical thinking with a broad sense of perception and persuasion, creativity, mathematical and critical thinking that allows them to solve their own problems, facing the life’s challenges and the world of work and with these "soft skills" overcome them.

In the future (referring punctually to Latin America, for in other countries this is already an implemented model), it will not be necessary to lead by force or position, because the functional organization chart will disappear from the companies. Successful professionals in the digital world must be "digital centaurs" (half human, half technology), which is equivalent to being beings of very high creativity and sensitivity, with high technical knowledge in the development of software and administrators of their own performance, which allows them to achieve the objectives in real time.

The professionals of the future must be people who collaborate with artificial intelligences to achieve a common goal. The working world of the future requires professionals with high digital talents, with skills related to Information and Communication Technologies. The professions of the future will have jobs that we cannot even imagine today, but it is considered that in 25 years we will be immersed in the world of digital talent, where professionals will have robots and AI as work colleagues. The young people who grow up today playing videogames like minecraft or stardew valley, will have concepts, ideas and motivations very different compared to what the designers and current programmers have.

The young people of the future, to be successful in the labor field, must have a lot of connection with what they do, they must feel passion for their work, prepare for hybrid careers oriented to the basic sciences, competences and computational thinking, knowledge of art and in different disciplines and positions that prepare them to successfully meet the challenges of the future. They are professions related to talent, health and technology, which empowers them to face the world of the digital economy.

One of the main characteristics of the professional of the future, "digital centaur", is precisely be willing and prepared to do tasks with a digital partner, receive data and understand that their task and function will be shared with non-human beings. They must know how to do cross-cutting tasks; this is to work in integrated networks, where they will first work in a position with an "x" objective and six months in another position and with new objectives, but always taking advantage of their skills and competences. Beyond their basic profession, they must know how to share with beings that are not human.

In short, in the world of the future, young people within their ideal profile need to be committed and motivated by their impact on society. Willing to migrate to many projects with many challenges, challenges and positions, so that organizations have greater ability to capture the skills of young people and have less turnover. Another feature of digital centaurs is to be prepared in hybrid careers with a greater focus on transversality and with duality between art and science, in such a way that they can analyze problems, fragment them and find solutions.

Only in this way, the young person will secure a job in the future this day, possessing a computational thought, that is, thinking how an algorithm thinks, this is a logical thinking to be creative and innovative, digital bilinguals and literate in networks, people who were born in a globally connected world.

Therefore, it is up to us, the people who serve as leaders, teachers or mentors, to prepare today's young people to be tomorrow's successful professionals, but above all, to make them happy people.
